HARRISVILLE CITY PARK PROJECT

Harrisville City has been selected by the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food to participate in the Utah Pollinator Habitat Program. Over the next month, the Harrisville City Main Park terrace beds will be under renovation to prepare for participation in this project. The Parks department will be removing sod and converting the pop up spray heads to a drip irrigation system. In September, the plants will be placed in the terrace beds creating the habitat.

The Utah Pollinator Habitat program began in 2021 as a three-year pilot program to improve pollinator habitat in Utah. In 2025, with the support of State Representative, Ashlee Matthews, and Senator Evan Vickers, HB 251 was passed by the Utah legislature amending the Utah Pollinator Habitat Program to be an official and permanent fixture in Utah.

The terrace beds are located at the entrance of the Harrisville Main Park at approximately 1350 North Highway 89.
