Harrisville City Youth Council participated in the butterfly project coordinated by Jena Andrus. The youth were in charge of carefully unfolding the preserved butterflies and putting them into special clear protective envelopes.
These butterflies are from the collection of George Andrusko of Harrisville He collected nearly 4000 butterflies. Many of them are from around the world. The collection will be donated to the Natural History Museum of Utah. The youth were fascinated by the many kinds and sizes of butterflies. Our youth were able to place approximately 300 butterflies in these special envelopes.
